Murph's Musings
Taylor Hughes is a Kentucky girl through and through...bourbon, University of Kentucky sports, you name it. As such, it's really no surprise that her home state awarded her the Country Artist of the Year at the Lexington Music Awards on March 5th at the Lyric Theater and Cultural Arts Center. Having won a few awards myself along the way for my podcast, I'm pretty sure I know how Taylor's feeling this week. Knowing Taylor like I do, it doesn't surprise me a bit she's getting the recognition she deserves. Keep an eye out for this rising Kentucky girl...she's got big plans and is going places fast.

The 02 Arena in London, England has hosted many major acts during its time, but on March 10-12, Nashville based singer songwriter Kirstie Kraus takes the iconic stage at the C2C Country Music Festival to perform alongside UK artist Thomas Kavanagh, doing their newest duet "Who Am I Gonna Love?" written by Krystal King and Kavanagh. According to Kirstie, she is "so excited" to be playing this festival. I admit, I'm a little jealous that Kirstie is going to the UK, as that's been a dream of mine for many, many years, but, I digress. The 02 Arena is the ninth largest arena in the world by volume, topping out at a 20,000 seat capacity. Congratulations to Kirstie on checking off a major milestone, and there will no doubt be more along the way.
Most artists work for years to make a singular dream come true...a spot on the hallowed stage of the Grand Ole Opry. Such is the case with Clare Cunningham. The County Louth, Ireland native, who calls Nashville, Tennessee home, realizes that dream on March 18, 2023, as she makes her Opry debut on the heels of her newest music video for "Clovers" which released on March 5. Cunningham will take the stage at 7PM Central, alongside Opry member Lauren Alaina and artists Morgan Evans, Jameson Rodgers, Jig Jam and more.
Come out and support Clare as she celebrates this important milestone. Nothing in the music industry (well, almost nothing) is more exciting than your first headlining tour. Just ask Nashville based singer/songwriter Lauren Weintraub, who fires up her People Like Me Tour in Decatur GA on 4/21. Below are all the dates listed for the tour:
4/21 Decatur GA 6/2 Washington DC 6/3 Philadelphia PA 6/5 Chicago IL 6/16 Columbus OH 6/23 Dallas TX 6/24 Houston TX Major congratulations to Lauren on this milestone. Be sure to catch any one of the upcoming shows Nashville singer/songwriter Caitlin Quisenberry recently released her cover of the Roberta Flack hit “Killing Me Softly”. The haunting song starts with Quisenberry’s vocals over the piano and then breaks out in the chorus. This may be Quisenberry’s strongest vocal performance to date, and that’s saying a lot, considering she is classically trained, having learned from some of the best the music industry has to offer. You can feel the pain in her voice as she delivers the lyrics.
Be on the lookout for more from Caitlin, as I can guarantee you that she’s a force to be reckoned with. |
